1999 dark bay/brown gelding
16.1 1/2 gelding
by Aggressive Chief out of Sherunsfornanny by Well Decorated.
Stout build, big engine, big slopy shoulder, cribbing is controlled with collar.
He has a meaty left knee from a past surgery. Take that into consideration if evaluating him for a higher level competition horse. In my personal experience I would say he is limited to smaller sized jumps (3'3" and lower) and inappropriate for higher levels of dressage training.
Video clips at walk and trot can be emailed:
0:02 trot
0:08 trot
0:23 walk
0:04 trot down to walk
This horse has to go ASAP. Owner/trainer has him priced at $850 to move fast.

These are some questions and answers from this morning's email/PMs:
Is he sound?
Seemed fairly sound at walk and trot when I showed up unannounced to take pics and video yesterday, trotting on the hard, packed gravel driveway. The barn help did not expect me so he was most likely not buted up for my arrival.
Does he have normal (rideable) flexion in the knee?
Seems to when walked and trotted out but I have not seen him ridden. I had to really crank down when flexing his knee to get him to flinch.
Is he "over the knee" in the other front leg due to stress from racing (or funny pic)
Probably just a funny pic, I didnt get a really good pic of all his parts looking good at the same time - something looks funny in each one. Send me your email and I can email you some more pics.
Temperament?
Seemed very good minded, curious, professional when I came zooming into the barn with 15 minutes to take pics and video. I found out which horse it was then went in, haltered, stripped blanket and wraps off, took off cribbing strap (miracle collar) while the groom was getting a shank to pull him out. He stood quietly and never offered to kick or pin his ears. He was calm but curious when we were walking and trotting in the driveway, not rude or nervous.
Special needs?
Only thing that I know about is his cribbing is controlled with a collar. Yesterday is the only time I have ever seen him.
How much time has he had off?
They tell me he raced about 2 weeks ago but I have not verified that. Update - he last raced 2-27-06 and 2-7-06 before that.
How come you're not restarting this one?
If I bought another one my darling Darren would shoot me! I did consider him for daughter Lauren but he is too tall and stout barreled for her (she is 11 and on a 12.2 pony now).
The story I got with the horse is that he was a very nice racehorse who chipped a knee so they did "the right thing" and chose to operate to remove a chip from that knee. But after doing all the right things, giving him time off, bringing him back slowly etc, now he trains sound and but doesnt WANT to race anymore. So they figure after a year post surgery they will cut their losses and get out on him. I was told he has raced 3 times since he was operated on and has lost any desire to run - and has showed nothing in the race. I do NOT have his chart so that is not verified. Personally I think he is too heavy to run well, esp as deep as the track has been here. But once you operate on a horse it can be difficult to get them fit again, esp horses that are good doers and big, heavy bodied horses. And this trainer is based at a training center, not the racetrack itself. Meaning his options are to eurocise at the trot, train on the training track which is a much faster (shallower) surface, or ship in to the racetrack to gallop or breeze. Just my $0.02 from the outside looking in, so to speak.
UPDATE: Nanny has a sale pending in the next 2 days. Congrats and a huge thank you to Kate Selby of The Equestry www.equestry.com/index.html . I look forward to seeing pics of Nanny in his new life in Vermont!
